Using the Chromebook requires a variety of skills beyond just turning it on. Some of these skills the littles have and some of them they are still developing. I firmly believe that our littles can do just about anything on the Chromebook, but it may take more time and repetition and at times some adaptation.
As with any skill you need to use it or you lose it. Having the littles use the Chromebook daily for some activities will ensure the skill is retained. It also helps to build some procedures that they can follow. For example you may have them log in, then click on the Google Classroom bookmark and go to Classwork.
Some suggested daily activities might include
-15 minutes of mouse skill games.
-taking a paper worksheet and emailing it to yourself as a PDF and creating a Kami assignment for students to complete on the Chromebook.
-Run a Pear Deck lesson to engage your students and get valuable formative feedback.
-Link to a Brainpop lesson.
-Link to a website.
