SharePoint

Hilton Central School District uses SharePoint to create sites for schools, grade levels, committees, teachers, and more! You can use it as a secure place to store, organize, share, and access information from almost any device. Please follow the steps outlines below to follow a site on SharePoint.

Step 1: Open up and log in to Office 365 and click on SharePoint.

Step 2: Click on the search box in the top left corner and type in the name of the Site you wish to follow. "QUEST Intermediate" is the example of the site here and not what you would necessarily type in.

Step 3: After typing in the Site in the search box, click enter and it should appear after the page refreshes. Click on the site as it appears after the search.

Step 4: After opening the site, click on the follow icon with the star in the top right corner of the page. The page will refresh on its own and you are now following the site.

Step 5: Once you follow a site it will appear on the front page of SharePoint every time you open it up under "Following" on the left hand column. If you visit a site frequently enough, it will appear on the home screen of SharePoint under the "Frequent" column.

Step 6 (only if this is a site that you have access to sharing on): You can upload files and folders to the SharePoint site by opening up the site and uploading. This works very similar to file explorer on your computer when adding files to folders. There is also a "Newsfeed" where you can provide updates and communicate to the collaborators and followers of the site.

Please reach out to the LTT department for support regarding any questions about creation, utilization, and/or questions about sites and using SharePoint!
